Introduction

Ramoche Temple, located in the heart of Lhasa, is one of the city’s oldest and most revered Buddhist temples. Founded during the Tubo Dynasty, it holds great historical and religious significance.

Built in the 7th century, Ramoche Temple was originally constructed to house a statue of the Buddha Sakyamuni brought to Tibet by Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty. The temple features traditional Tibetan architecture with a main hall, courtyards, and prayer wheels.
