Introduction

The Lama Temple, officially known as Yonghe Temple, is one of Beijing’s most important Tibetan Buddhist temples and a center of Tibetan culture in the city. It is known for its beautiful architecture and rich cultural heritage.

History

The Lama Temple was originally built during the Qing Dynasty as a palace for Prince Yongzheng. It was later converted into a Buddhist temple and has been an important center of Tibetan Buddhism ever since.
