Introduction

The National Museum of China is one of the largest museums in the world and the most comprehensive museum in China. Located in Tiananmen Square, it showcases China’s rich history and culture from ancient times to the present day.

History

The museum was established in 2003 by merging the National Museum of Chinese History and the National Museum of Chinese Revolutionary History. It is housed in a large building on the eastern side of Tiananmen Square.
