Introduction

The Great Wall of China is one of the world’s most famous landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Badaling section, located about 70 kilometers north of Beijing, is the most visited and well-preserved section of the wall.

History

The Great Wall was built over 2,000 years ago to protect China from northern invaders. The Badaling section was originally built during the Ming Dynasty and has been restored multiple times over the centuries.

• Transportation: Take a bus from Deshengmen or a tour bus from the city center.

Visitor Tips

• Best Time to Visit: Spring (April-May) or autumn (September-October).
• Wear Comfortable Shoes: The wall has steep stairs and uneven surfaces.
