Longhua Temple, located in Xuhui District, is Shanghai’s oldest Buddhist temple with a history dating back over 1,700 years. It is famous for its beautiful architecture, ancient pagoda, and the annual Longhua Temple Fair.
Longhua Temple was first built during the Three Kingdoms period (222-280 AD) and has been rebuilt and renovated many times over the centuries. The temple complex features traditional Chinese Buddhist architecture with a main hall, various side halls, and the iconic Longhua Pagoda.
